A Man’s Viewpoint – Photography Exhibit
Cultural Arts Council Douglasville / Douglas County’s annual October photography show continues with “A Man’s Viewpoint”, a study of work by seven (7) male photographers and looking through their “view point”.
The reception will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 6-8 pm and hosted by the Sweetwater Camera Club.The exhibit will remain on view through November 21st.
John Mariana, Mike Ramy, Mike Nalley, Bob Kelley, Randy Johnson, Jim Johns, and Jerry Frost are seven (7) Metro Atlanta area photographers being featured.

Do you have items that need to be recycled but Public Services doesn’t accept them? Come out to Keep Douglasville Beautiful’s Fall Recycle event in the overflow parking lot of First Presbyterian Church. This event is open to anyone, not just Douglasville/Douglas County residents.
If it plugs in, uses batteries, or has metal content, we can take it! Everything from cell phones to large appliances! This is a drive-thru event so just pull up and let our volunteers unload your recyclables! PLEASE NOTE: There is a $5 fee for each TV and monitor. All other items FREE to recycle!
The Annual ‘Music and Arts on the Plaza’ Festival is a much-anticipated event that features an Artist Market with work of artists, artisans, and craftspeople from around the region.
The Art Adventure Alley showcases artists demonstrations and hands on activities for all ages.
All day entertainment will be electrifying the stage and festival area as indie artists from an array of genres entertain with soul stirring gospel, toe tapping jazz, blues & country, to finger popping R&B, & Pop. If it’s great music expect to hear it coming from the stage.

Help celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department as we host a special Pink Out Movie Night featuring Toy Story 4.
Join us in bringing awareness to Breast Cancer. Popcorn and water will be provided to the first 100 guests while supplies last. You’re welcome to bring your own food, drinks and coolers with nonalcoholic beverages.
Wear pink in support of Cancer survivors and current fighters! 💕

BTFP Jimmy Carter Presidential Library
Join Beyond the Front Porch as we visit The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum in Atlanta, Georgia that houses U.S. President Jimmy Carter‘s papers and other material relating to the Carter administration and the Carter family’s life. The library also hosts special exhibits, such as Carter’s Nobel Peace Prize and a full-scale replica of the Oval Office, including a copy of the Resolute Desk. The building housing the library and museum makes up 69,750 square feet, with 15,269 square feet of space for exhibits and 19,818 square feet of archive and storage space. The library stacks house 27 million pages of documents; 500,000 photos, and 40,000 objects, along with films, videos, and audiotapes. These collections cover all areas of the Carter administration, from foreign and domestic policy to the personal lives of President and Mrs. Carter. This activity, transportation and lunch is FREE for students on free/reduced lunch and $25 for all others.
The 2019 2nd Annual Bicycle Ride sponsored by the Douglasville Police Department is happening on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 8am – 10am at the Douglasville Police Department, 2083 Fairburn Road, Douglasville, GA. 30135. The registration fee is $25.00 and includes a t-shirt.
Registration deadline is September 27th. Check-in time is 7:00am and the ride will depart promptly at 8:00am.
This is a rain or shine event, so no refunds. AGES 18 & UP – 30.23 MILES – FREE T-SHIRT
Payment can also be made online once registration is reviewed and we send a confirmation invoice. Payment link will be provided.

This is a big event with vendors, touch-a-truck, K-9 demonstration, bounce houses, and more. Vendor Registration deadline is October 4th. This is a rain or shine event.
Vendors are needed.
Guidelines for Vendors:
o October 12, 2019 – Set up from 07:00 am – 9:30 am (NO SET UPS AFTER 9:30 am) RAIN OR SHINE
o Space rental is $25.00 – Table / tent / electricity are the responsibility of the vendor and will not be provided. NON-REFUNDABLE.
o Set up and take down of booth will be the responsibility of the vendor in the designated area.

Prince Tribute Concert: We’re throwing a free community concert featuring a Prince Tribute band! The concert will be held from 3-6pm! The stage will be located on the lower level between Macy’s and Bed Bath & Beyond.
Character Appearances: From 12-3pm, take your picture and visit with a super hero and princess!
Cookie Cake: Snap a selfie celebrating Arbor Place Mall’s 20th Anniversary for a piece of cookie cake from Great American Cookies!

Get ready to sing, dance, shake, laugh, wiggle and learn together as Mr. Michael gets silly with his guitar.
